The Early Childhood Education Enhancement Project
In collaboration with Agriteam Canada , Algonquin's School of Health and Community Studies is assisting in the development of a national early childhood education program in Egypt . The project, with funding by CIDA, seeks to develop a comprehensive early childhood education system beginning with the expansion of its public kindergarten programs.
Early Childhood Education Professor Gretchen Reynolds has been instrumental over the past two years in providing technical assistance to the project in the area of ECE curriculum development and in-service teacher training in Egypt . In addition, Algonquin's participation led to linkages with local schools and the involvement of two Algonquin ECE students completing a two month placement in Cairo with an International School . The ECE students received funding from the International Education Scholarship program. For more information on the project visit:
