Rural Health Education Project

The IEC received funding through the Canadian College Partnership Program, funded by CIDA and administered by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) for a five-year Rural Health Education Project in India. Algonquin is working with the Agnel Technical Education Complex to develop a health education program for rural communities. The partnership has assisted ATEC to develop eight new health education modules on subjects such as the Sex Education for Youth, Prevention of HIV/AIDS, Environmental Protection, and Sanitation and Hygiene. Numerous Algonquin faculty and staff have participated in project activities including teacher training for ATEC faculty, curriculum development, the production of learning materials and educational training videos.
