In my program we are challenged to take part in a 6 week work placement in partnership with a museum to develop a professional portfolio. I decided to go abroad to gain international experience which is very important in this day and age. Working with the National Trust of Western Australia has proven to be a great learning experience. I have had the opportunity to take part in various tasks at many of their historic locations throughout WA and will be able to bring home some great working knowledge of how they coordinate and run their historical properties.

The Ontario International Opportunity Scholarship has been an integral part of my experience here in Perth. Without it, I would never have had the opportunity to make the contacts and connections that will prove useful later on in my museum career.
