Visit from from Jiangsu Maritime Institute (JMI), China

On September 16th, Algonquin College hosted a delegation from Jiangsu Maritime Institute (JMI) led by its President Mr. Liu Hongming. Algonquin College and Jiangsu Maritime Institute entered an agreement in 2009 to jointly deliver Ontario’s 3-year Business Program in Materials and Operations Management at JMI in Nanjing, China. So far, 4 intakes have been enrolled since September 2010, and the first group graduated in September this year.
Kent MacDonald, President, Claude Brule, Vice President, Ernest Mulvey, Director of International Education Centre, David Donaldson, Dean of Business School and other staff of Business School and International Education joined the meeting with visiting JMI guests to discuss ways to improve the project and opportunities for strengthening and broadening the mutually beneficial relationship. Kent MacDonald plans to pay a visit to JMI in early November this year.
