The Green Office

An ITS “Go Green” Tip!

How to remove the ESET NOD32 appended tag message at the bottom of sent or received emails …

As you may know, Information Technology Services is in the final stages of deploying the new Anti-Virus solution to all College computers and laptops. The new Anti-virus software, ESET NOD32, is a solid security solution and has many powerful features. But when considering the goal of maintaining a “Green” workplace, a simple change to the configuration of ESET can really bring us closer to the “Go Green” initiative.

When printing an email, you may have noticed that ESET includes a message regarding the version information and that the message has been checked.

__________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4697 (20091217) __________

The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus.

If you’d like to “Go Green”, you can follow a few simple steps. Click here (Click on Open to launch the linked document)

Or ask yourself … “ Do I really need to print this email?”. But if you do, why not trim off the unnecessary information at the bottom.

Please contact the ITS Service Desk if you have any questions and / or require assistance.
