Network Account Support FAQ

Q I am a student. Where do I get my account information.

A. Log into ACSIS. Then click on Network Account Info on the left menu.

Q. I am a student and don't see a username and/or password in ACSIS

A. If you have paid an IT Fee you will get an account in the first few days of the semester. Then the username and password will appear. Visit ITS or the Registrar for assistance.

Q. I am a student I see a password but no username in ACSIS

A. A password is entered whether you get an account or not.

Q. I am new staff and I don't know where to get my network account information.

A. Your account information is sent to the manager that registered you with Human Resources

Q. I am staff and my manager doesn't have my username and password.

A. Visit ITS with one piece of photo ID and we can help you.

Q. Does my Algonquin password expire?

A. Students - No.    Staff - Yes, every 120 days.

Q. When I try to log in to the computer why do I get an error message.

A. Issues may include:

    • "Account Locked, see administrator" - Too many failed login attempts. Wait half an hour.
    • "Woodroffe domain not found" - Try another computer and report that one to ITS
    • "Wrong username or password" - Check CAP-Lock, Check ACSIS to verify your password, type carefully - If all else fails visit myPass or contact ITS
    • "Account disabled, see administrator" - Your account has been disabled for a variety of reasons. Contact ITS.

Q . What do I do if I think someone has access to my username and password?

A. Change your password and if appropriate, report problems to Algonquin security.

Q. I can log into the computer but system <XXXXX> doesn't work.

A. Go to the support section for support for the system that is not working to see what you can do.

Q. How long do I have my account for?

A. It varies but generaly*:

Group Keep the account until...
Students (full time - grad) One semester after grad.
Students (full time - drop program) Until the drop out status is processed by the registrar.
Students (part time) Until the part time course finishes.
Staff (full time) Until you leave the college
Staff (part time) Account is deleted when your contract expires
