Why are we doing it?
There are certain systems which don't work as well navigating between the different domains and there is a greater level of complexity in maintaining and developing a multi-domain environment.
With the domains consolidated maintenance and support will be standardized and consistent for all. This combined with the Exchange upgrade will solve a lot of problems and smooth out a lot of procedural issues.
What will change for the users?
Eventually your windows logon screen will be logging onto the Woodroffe domain rather than the Perth or Pembroke domains.

Differences between the networking for the campuses will be gone for the most part.
- So those who travel and work between will find things more accommodating.
- Perth and Pembroke will see a few small functional changes with their network drives and phones.
- The students and staff won't have as many problems transferring between campuses - it will just be "woodroffe".
- Looking up phone numbers, email addresses and staff information will be more straight forward.
- The pce00xxx temporary accounts are changing go here for more
People may have to:
- If your remote connection has trouble after Sept 28 adjust remote connection settings at home or completely redo VPN connection settings.
VPN -
If using the VPN client then uninstall it and use webvpn.
See the remote connection page for details
- Use slightly different phone procedures.
- Login for some applications will have the username as woodroffe/<username> rather than perth/<username>. After Pembroke is migrated you will be able to use only the username with no domain at all.
- Woodroffe staff who include Perth staff in meetings will have to recreate those meetings. As well as redo addresses in their contact list which include Perth people.
How long will it take?
Domain Consolidation is expected to be complete by late November 2009.
