Blackboard Support FAQ

Q. I am at work and can not get to the Blackboard page or else can not log on

A. Change your browser security and privacy settings to default. Turn off any fire walls. Speak to your company network administrator. Then if all else fails try it when you get home. If it works there then you know it is your work network or PC that is causing the problem.

Q. I can get to the page but can not log in to Blackboard.

A. Your username and password are the same as your NT account logon and your email account. Try logging into email. You can call ITS for a password reset if needed. See the left margin for ITS contact information.

Q. I'm a teacher and can not see my course in Blackboard.

A. You must first be scheduled in Genesis for it to appear in Blackboard. You may want to speak the program coordinator. Also remember that you must wait one day for new courses to appear after being scheduled in Genesis.

Q. I am a student and can not see my course in Blackboard.

A. - Some courses do not use Blackboard. Ask your teacher or see if a classmate can see theirs.
- It takes at least 24 hours for changes to be updated for viewing.
- You might try speaking to the Registrar to ensure the registration was processed properly.
- If the course is listed but can not be viewed you must see your teacher to correct this.

Q. My evening course is not visible in Blackboard.

A. CE courses have a Blackboard entry only if the Department Course Loader sets up this option in Genesis. The course gets created over night after getting flagged in Genesis.
- Students' Blackboard accounts get created only on the morning the CE course is created.
- Teachers should contact the Department or BBhelp in C102B
- Students should contact their teacher or BBHelp in C102B

Q. I can not see my Digital Drop Box

A. Digital Drop Box is available under Course Tools. If it is not there students should contact their teacher. If needed the teacher should contact BBhelp or the Faculty user guide

Q. I don't know how to check my grades.

A. "My Grades" option is available under "Course Tools". If the teacher has not assigned a special button for it the student should contact that teacher.

Q. I am a student and can't log into Blackboard.

A. - Check ACSIS to make sure you are using the correct username and password - and does it work?
- If you registered within the last two days you must wait a bit longer for processing to complete.
- If you are in the BSCN program please visit BBhelp in C102B.

Q. I am a teacher and can not log into Blackboard.

A. - Do you have your college network username and password and does it work for OWA? See your manager or ITS.
- Have you been scheduled yet in Genesis? See BBhelp or your program coordinator.
