5. Is this a Public list, Yes or No? In a public list, any person can join. In a non-public list, only moderators can subscribe users to the list.

6. Do you wish a welcome message to be sent to subscribers automatically? A welcome message can contain greeting messages, how to subscribe/unsubscribe from the list, etc, and is sent when a user is added to a list. The moderator/owner will also receive notification that a welcome message has been sent to a subscriber.

7. Do you wish a farewell message to be sent to subscribers automatically? A farewell message can contain anything you wish to tell subscribers when they are removed from the list. The moderator/owner will also receive notification that a farewell message has been sent to a subscriber.

8. Do you wish to allow subscribers to enumerate the list membership? Setting to Yes will allow subscribers and moderators to send an "Enumerate" command to the list server to find out who is a member of the list. Setting to No will allow only moderators of the list to do so.

10. Should the list be restricted to members, or should anyone be allowed to send messages to the list? Typically, lists are restricted to members that subscribe to it. However, a list that is used as a mailto: on a web page cannot be restricted.

| 11. List errors should be sent to which address? Typically, the primary moderator will receive errors from the list. Errors could be from invalid e-mail addresses, so that the moderator would have to remove or repair the invalid address. |

12. Do you wish archives to be created for this list? Archives are typically created on a daily basis if needed, and are saved on the server. Most lists at Algonquin do not have archives.

13. Do you want to enable the list to use a digest if the subscribers wish to use it? A digest is usually set to save all message sent to the list in a day, so that instead of receiving multiple messages in one day, a subscriber will only receive one message that includes all of the others.
