Changing your Password

There are three ways to change your Algonquin network password:

1. Mypass - Password Self Service - log in and change

2. Windows tool while on campus

3. OWA - For staff, log in and click Options and Change Password. Follow the prompts.

Forgot your Network password?
You will also notice that the logon box on Algonquin computers has "Forgot your Password" that links to MyPass. This enables you to resolve log on problems on your own. Otherwise students can go to ACSIS to view their username and pin number. You can also use Mypass. Staff and students can visit the ITS Help Desk in Room C316 to have their password reset. You must have photo ID with you.

Notes:
  - Passwords will expire every 120 days.

  - Laptops - When you change your network password you must also change it on your laptop. Staff can plug the laptop into a network cable and the just log onto the main laptop logon with your username and the new password. Otherwise staff and students must change their password in the wireless settings or if prompted. Contact ITS if you need assistance.

Password Rules

Why worry about it?

Why? Because if someone gets your username and password they can do harm to your reputation, your finances, your involvement with the College and even legal matters. They could delete your files, use up all your printing paper or write a rude letter in your name.

Algonquin also wants you to be aware in order to protect the College's interests and security. If unauthorized people access the computer networks they could harm our systems. One measure is to lock out an account if too many failed attempts occur. The assumption is that one of the bad guys are trying to get in.
