Not all Algonquin computer systems use the same user authentication and not all computer systems automatically communicate with each other when you change your password. So one system would have the old password and some have the new. Like a ring full of keys you need to keep it straight...and it can be confusing.

 

Every system in the college uses your network username and password except:

ACSIS	Uses student number and birthday (password gets changed to a new password on the first login) Uses employee number for username and password (password gets changedto a new password on the first logon)
Academic web server algonquinstudents.com algonquinstudents.ca	uses username@algstudent
Various	When logging in, a couple of systems require woodroffe\username       (ie woodroffe/smit9999) ( ie wopq1,wopq, logging in while off-campus)

 

Which systems are affected by this password tool?
Some systems communicate automatically when you change your password or lock a user out of an account after too many failed log in attempts. When you change your password on one of the above systems, the other systems are updated within 30 minutes. (Partial List)

Which are not synchronized to it?
These systems maintain their own password.The following computer systems do not automatically communicate regarding user authentication.  Each of these systems has their own authentication process. They may use your initial password but are not kept up-to-date when you change it. With the exception of ACSIS, almost all of the systems in the above list require the username and password you were originally given.  If you want to know more about each of these systems please visit their respective support pages where there are instructions about its password.  (Partial List)
