Printing for New Staff
As staff and faculty at Algonquin College you will have access to printing facilities in your department or office area. Otherwise, you can print in the student labs. Whether the computer and printer are yours alone to use, or you have shared facilities, your department will provide what is needed for your position.
ITS provides support for all College owned equipment but provides very limited support for personally owned equipment. Please see your department if you have special requirements.

Printing for Staff
In the office - If you are using your department or office printers your department will usually provide you with consumables like paper and toner. Algonquin uses either laser or inkjet technology.
Printers which are set up with a "network share" are not supported by ITS. This is where a printer is connected to a computer and shared through the network. We do support network or directly connected printers.
In the Lab - If you are printing in a student lab as staff, you get 100 sheets per month. When these sheets are consumed you can go to the bookstore to purchase more. The 100 sheets are a courtesey and not meant to be your main printing resource. This system is called PCounter. For more details about PCounter follow this link.
New Equipment
If you receive new equipment ITS can install it and set up any drivers, cables, connections and install toner. Contact ITS for assistance. See the left margin of this page for ITS contact information.
Ricoh Printers
A common printer in Algonquin is the Ricoh Printer/Fax/Scanner. The driver for it will be installed on your computer and you must enter your 6 digit printer security code. Have your manager contact Nicole Moloughney in C545 at ext 5310 to request the code number. Paper usage is monitored by Nicole for a month and she arranges paper to be delivered to that printer the next month. Toner is the departments responsibility and can be purchased at Central Stores.
