| Whenever you enter your Email address into any form on the web, it is stored in the database of whatever web site you entered it into. There is always a possibility that another company might get access to your Email address somehow, through a variety of possible methods. These companies generate lists of thousands of Email addresses collected from forms all over the web. They then send mass amounts of Emails out to all those addresses, generally in the form of advertisements. This is called 'spam'. Or, 'spamming'.
Another form of spam is when one individual or company repeatedly sends huge amounts of Emails to the same recipient in a short period of time.
Outlook has spam filtering capabilities and the College has implemented a dedicated scanning server. For more information on your Spam/Virus Settings, go to, SPAM/Viru Settings (Link accessible only on Algonquin network) Login to change your SPAM/Virus filter settings.
