How do I find a magazine, newspaper or Journal title in the e-Resource collection?

You are seeking an article from Maclean's Magazine or Nurse Researcher. You have all the relevant citation information (article title, date of article, author and volume or edition number and page number), but you are not sure where to get the actual article (the full-text).

How do you find the actual article?

  • Algonquin's Libraries offer a significant amount of  print content online through their e-Resource collections.  These materials are searchable on campus by users who have an active network account and off campus for those who have a current Library Account.
  • A-Z Electronic Journal Locator is an index to all the e-Resources held by the library. It will list all e-resources your title is indexed within and link you to that title quickly and easily.
  • If you are accessing the e-Resources from home, please review the tutorial on Remote Access.
  • Select the A-Z Electronic Journal Locator from the Algonquin College e-Resources page
  • By default, you may search for a journal by Title.
  • For additional search criteria such as ISBN or publisher, select the Search tab or the Advanced Search link.

  • The Index tab will allow you to browse the title listings held by each database.
  • The Subjects tab will allow you to browse titles by subject.
  • The Alphabetical links will allow you to browse all title holding alphabetically.
  • The results of a search or browse will display the title, a list of databases that title can be accessed from including what years they each cover, the publications name and ISBN and the subject category.

Results listed will include all the e-Resources held by the library which contain the full-text of your title and to which you have access.  Choose one of the listed links to search the publication for an article. Remember to look at the holding dates before you make your choice.
