Borrowing Programs
The Libraries and the Mobile Learning Centre loan laptops, notebooks and cables for in-library use to students.
Laptops:
- Algonquin College students who are in good standing may borrow a laptop for academic use from the LRC. Rules differ depending on campus.
- At Woodroffe laptops may be borrowed from the library front desk (room C205) and in the Mobile Learning Centre (room C102) and can be used anywhere on campus. Returns must be made to the desk from which the item was borrowed at least a half an hour before the closing time for that desk.
- At Perth campus laptops may be borrowed from the library front desk and can be used anywhere on campus.
- At Pembroke campus laptops may be borrowed from the library front desk and are for use within the library only.
- All laptops and peripherals are available on a first come basis and may be borrowed during open hours within the library depending on the campus loaning policy.
- Fines and overdue fees are associated with late returned items - For information on fines, overdue or lost laptops click here.
- A current student Library Card or a College photo ID, that has been activated on the library system, is required for borrowing.
- Student borrowers are required to sign a loan agreement at least once a year to indicate they agree to the conditions of borrowing.
- Students are responsible for their own personal files and the Learning Resource Centre will not accept responsibility for deleted or lost documents saved to the laptop. Files should be saved to a device owned by the student or to the college’s network space. NEVER save directly to a borrowed laptop.
Computers within the library:
The computers in the Library are considered an Access Lab for student use. Users are requested to abide by the rules for lab use.
