The following indexes in Electronic Databases will help you find articles in magazines/periodicals or newspapers.
From the LRC’s homepage, click on DATABASES. The following databases are available under Health Sciences in the Subject List. These products provide abstracts, citations and some full text articles from a variety of Dental Journals.
Some databases of interest to Dental Students/Faculty are:
- CINAHL (EBSCO) (Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health Literature) - abstracts/citations. Use the limit feature to restrict your search to Dental journals.
- EBM (Evidence Based Medicine (OVID) – Medical Research Reviews.
- E-CPS - Current online Canadian drug and therapeutic information.
- Health Source: Consumer Edition (EBSCO) Full-text and citations of consumer health magazines, books and pamphlets.
- Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition (EBSCO) Provides nearly 550 scholarly full text journals focusing on many medical disciplines.
- Medline (EBSCO) – Full-text and citations for medical journals including Dental Journals.
- Nursing Journals (PROQUEST) - Full-text and citations of academic nursing journals.
Usernames and Passwords may be required for some Databases – Please call the LRC at 727-4723 Ext. 5834 for these.
Find Electronic Journals related to Dentistry (within library databases):
- Scroll to the bottom of the Databases page and click on the Electronic Journal Locator.
- Locate a Journal either by title (search the index) or by choosing Health and Biological Sciences in the “choose a subject category” dropdown box.
- Scroll down and click on to Dentistry – General.
- You will then find a list of Online Journals that are dedicated to Dentistry.
- Having found the title you want, click on the Database Name and you are ready to search within the Journal.
