Ordering Books For Your Department

Algonquin staff and students can recommend books and/or videos for their campus LRC collection.

How to Recommend Materials

A LRC selection team is available to help you with the selection of material.

To recommend materials for purchase, please gather as much information as you can about the items that you wish to order (Consult online bookstores, books reviews, etc to help you find appropriate material) and follow one of the two procedures below:

1) Forward the information about the item(s) to your Program Coordinator. The Coordinator will collect the suggestions from your program and send them to the Chair.

The Chair will look at the broader subject area and approve purchases up to a certain dollar amount which has been assigned to your School. The approved order information is then redirected to the appropriate selector.

OR

2) Give the information about the item(s) to one of the LRC selectors for your School

The selection team will compile a list of items, including prices, to send back to the Chair for approval. Contact the selector in your area for assistance.

All requests will be reviewed by the selector for that subject area. We will do our best to meet your requests but some suggestions may not be met due to budget restrictions.

No materials will be ordered unless they are approved by the School.
