About the Program

Focus on Learning (FOL) is of value to anyone involved in teaching and learning. Spanning an academic year, the FOL program involves two, in-residence sessions during which our participants experiment with new technologies, techniques and ways of looking at how and why they do what they do.  Over the past twenty years, participants have included representatives from South Africa, Bermuda, India, the United States, as well as other regions of Ontario. It's been a challenge keeping ahead of the changes happening in the college system and we rely on our participants, group facilitators, planning committee and invited `experts' to help us do just that. Even though participants tell us that we're some of the most valuable professional development available, we try to tell THEM that they're the real resources.

Who Can Take Part?

Participants come from five Colleges in Eastern Ontario.  The program welcomes all those who guide and support student learning.  In the past, a number of participants have found the program to be useful including new and experienced teachers, trainers/facilitators and technologists/lab assistants.
