Fire Safety and Emergency Evacuation Orders (Directive A15)

http://www.algonquincollege.com/emergency

Fire is a serious threat to the college community. The most important duty of all occupants during a fire emergency is to leave the affected building immediately by the nearest safe route.

If you discover fire, activate the nearest fire alarm pull station and escort students out of the building immediately, closing, but not locking, the door behind you.

When the fire alarm sounds, you must promptly escort students out of the building by the nearest safe exit, moving 100m/300ft away from the building. The door should be closed, but not locked.

Persons requiring assistance shall proceed to the nearest collection point for persons with disabilities, or to the nearest safe exit, and wait for assistance from the Fire Department or fire emergency personnel.

Elevators shall not be used unless accompanied by Fire Department personnel.

Do not enter/return to the building until approved by the Fire Department and notified to do so by fire emergency personnel.
