This program is provided to part-time faculty who are new to teaching at Algonquin College or haven't taught at the College in the past 2 years.

Focus on Learning (FOL) Orientation Program for New Full-time Employees
Focus on Learning is a two-part program offered to newly hired full-time faculty. Participants have the chance to learn with peers from Eastern Region colleges.
Focus on Learning Part II: June 4 - 6, 2007
Newly hired faculty who participated in Focus on Learning Part I last August will be gathering to complete the second part of the program.
Faculty hired to start teaching in the Fall will be participating in Focus on Learning Part I from August 13 - 17.

Faculty Cyber Connections Update
Faculty Cyber Connections is a program that includes four interactive learning modules that can be completed within 6 - 8 hours. These modules include
- Educating the Millennials: Connecting to Generation Y....Not.
- A Teaching Portfolio: Beginning the Journey
- Active and Collaborative Learning
- Setting the Stage for Teaching and Learning=Effective Lesson Planning
The last of four pilot modules is well underway.
Representatives from participating colleges will be surveying teachers who took part in this program in order to get their perspective on the experience and ideas for future directions.

ABC - Aligning and Building Curriculum
This Eastern Region curriculum development program helps participants to develop skills to take a leadership role in program review and new program development at their colleges.
It includes two residential components and interim activities that are supported through peer collaboration. The first residential session typically takes place in the Fall while residential session two occurs in the Spring.
This spring's Residential Session II is scheduled for May 28 - 30.
Intended Audience
Faculty members with at least 3-5 years of college teaching experience who are comfortable with content. The attendee would be in a position to take the lead role in curriculum and program review after completion of this program.

Academic Coordinators' Conference
The Academic Coordinators' Conference is an Eastern Region initiative designed to bring College Academic Coordinators together every two years to discuss, develop, and share skills related to the unique aspects of the Academic Coordinator role.
This year's inaugural conference will be held from May 9-11 in Picton, Ontario.
