Applying Technology to Teaching

In this section, we are focusing attention on the use of technology in teaching and learning. At Algonquin College, our e-learning course management program is Blackboard, so you will find many specific references to Blackboard in what follows. Since we have an excellent Blackboard Help web site for advice about the technical aspects of Blackboard tools, we are going to focus here on pedagogical challenges, tools and techniques associated with e-learning environments.

For example, in this section you will find the following:

  • A discussion of four roles for online facilitators
  • A checklist for creating effective Powerpoint slides
  • A rubric for assessing your students' Powerpoint presentations
  • A discussion about the "Creative Commons" and digital copyright

And much more!
