Virtual College Project

The 2008-2013 Strategic Plan identifies Algonquin's mission as a leading Canadian College recognized for its unique programs, services and support systems which lead to student success. Algonquin firmly believes that change is necessary to fuel success in providing optimal learning environments that meet the expectations of future students. The commitment to student success is at the heart of Algonquin's core business, and as one enabler, the Virtual College is a major focus that will evolve and thrust Algonquin into the 21st century and into a full technology-enabled environment to meet community demands - online learning at Algonquin is a strategic asset and a key differentiator in the higher-education space. Although there is urgency in implementation, Algonquin is well aware of the scope, complexity, investments and enablers to facilitate a Virtual College implementation with student success at the core.
We are in progress and on-track to prepare a Virtual College Strategy and Implementation plan in 2009. A comprehensive outreach, consultation and collaboration plan is underway to support this venture. Please consult this website regularly for updates.
