Lynn Tarzwell

Program Coordinator
Writer, actor, and teacher Lynn Mason Tarzwell has over 30 years' experience in education and media, runs the one-year graduate certificate Scriptwriting program at Algonquin College. Lynn has written scripts for animated series such as Franklin the Turtle, Caillou and others, television documentaries, multimedia kits, CD-ROMs, videos, speeches and penned magazine articles. She is a professional voice actor on television and radio in roles such as Elly Patterson on the For Better or For Worse TV series. Since 2001, she has helped Scriptwriting students develop and pitch original TV series and movies, several of which have been produced or are in development. She is married to writer/actor John Tarzwell, has two terrific daughters who are wayyy taller than she is, and loves Max, the world’s worst guard dog. In her CFT* she enjoys travelling, messing around with power tools, reading and (surprise) watching movies and TV. (*copious free time)

rick kaulbarsMalcolm Hamilton

Rick Kaulbars

Rick Kaulbars is an Ottawa-born writer who has been creating scripts for film and television for over 20 years. In 1997 he started co-writing the popular Comedy Network series Kevin Spencer. As co-writer, he was instrumental in contributing to the show’s impressive 8-year run, as well as performing as a voice in almost every episode the show. Rick has also written for the show For Better or Worse (Funbag, Teletoon) and Toad Patrol (Funbag, Teletoon). In 2007, a short film he co-wrote with Lisa Virtue, Cubed (Right Path Pictures) was selected for the Los Angeles Short Film Festival and had its premiere screening at the Summer Institute of Film and Television. He enjoys the opportunities teaching affords him, both professionally and in his personal life as he raises his family. He continues to write and perform as opportunity permits, having worked for the past two years on the Canadian Film & Television Producers Association’s “Prime Time in Ottawa” awards with Cathy Jones and Nicholas Campbell.

 

Malcolm Hamilton
Malcolm Hamilton is a producer, director, writer, editor and videographer.  He is a broadcast industry professional with extensive experience at both CBC and CTV and has worked on more than 300 stories and short documentaries shot across Canada (from British Columbia to Baffin Island to Newfoundland) as well as numerous corporate projects and video podcasts shot in B.C., Ontario and Québec. Malcolm has received numerous national and international awards including: two Geminis (2003 & 2006; for short docs I produced and directed), a Silver Chris award (Columbus International Film and Video Festival) and two Golden Sheaf Awards (Best Documentary; Best A&E special). He is widely recognized as a creative thinker and innovator

 

 

B Wolfe Beverley Wolfe
Beverley has worked as a professional actor, composer, musician, drama instructor and playwright for over 25 years. While pursuing a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Ottawa, she wrote and produced her first full-length play, Marian later adapted for radio and aired on Ottawa’s CFRA. Hannah – for which Beverley also composed and performed the music – was performed several years later as part of a festival of new works at the Great Canadian Theatre Company. Invited to take part in master classes and writing workshops at the GCTC and the National Arts Centre, she created Ladies and Say When as workshop performances. Her latest script, Jump! – reviewed by Ottawa Citizen theatre critic Patrick Langston as “a dark gem” – received a 2009 Ottawa Fringe Festival “Best in Venue” award.

Currently, Beverley is working on a new script, Secret, a cheery little number about... well, she can’t tell you.
