Applying to one of the media programs that require testing?  Make sure to keep the application process rolling by finishing off all necessary steps.  Here are some frequently asked questions that may help you out:

What is covered on the admissions test?

Applicants are tested for English language proficiency as well as awareness and understanding of current events.

For the current events component, applicants are assessed on a number of general knowledge areas (Canadian and international), including media, arts, entertainment, sports, history, geography, government and newsmakers. This portion of the test is multiple choice.

What is the deadline for completing the test?

Applicants can continue to come in for testing until the program is full – therefore, there is no absolute deadline for completing your testing.  You can check the program status with the Registrar's Office at anytime.

How do I set up my testing appointment?

Call the Test Centre at 727-4723, extension 7079. It’s a good idea to have the letter sent to you by the College on hand when you call as they will need to know your student number.

What if I’m from out of town?

Applicants who live more than 40 km / 25miles from the College may elect to write their tests under the supervision of a staff member at an educational facility in their own area.

Where do I submit my additional requirements (resume, essay, etc.)?

Depending on your program of choice, you will have been asked to submit a resume and/or essay along with your testing.  The process is not complete until you’ve submitted these required pieces as well as completed your testing.
