I. Introduction
Provide a brief outline of the Partner Institution. This may include mandate/mission statement, collection description, facility description, staffing, current community partnerships, past examples of successful partnerships, etc...

II. Purpose of Project
Clearly establish the purpose of the Special Project. Articulate the need to participate in this type of project and describe the objective(s).

III. Project Description
Outline the Special Project. Will it be a research paper, interpretation plan, experiment, treatment, educational program, exploration of funding opportunities, the implementation of collections management software, or the design and fabrication of an exhibit?

IV. Methodology
How do you foresee the student completing the Special Project? This may involve research, brainstorming, mock-ups, etc...be thorough and include all the methods to be employed.

V. Resources - Budget
Include the cost of any resources to be employed as part of the Special Project. It should be noted that some Special Projects will contain processes that are difficult to "cost out".
For example, treatment of cultural property often requires in situ decisions that will affect the operating budget for the project. Costing for this venture can be estimated.

The cost of printing the end-of-the-year Special Project Report is expected to be incurred by the Host Institution. A minimum of four (4) copies of the report will be required for the student's year end Special Project Final Presentation.

VI. Timeline
Include a general estimation of time required to complete the project. How many hours do you believe the project may require?
This timeline will assist you in the planning phase and will help to guide the progress of the special project.

****It must be noted that the AMS program receives more requests for special projects than we can accommodate. The submission of a request for a special project partnership does not guarantee the project will be accepted or undertaken. The Special Project Partner Institution Supervisor agrees to attend the Proposal Presentation and the end of the year Special Project Presentation.*****
