January 5, 2009 - WELCOME ALGONQUIN
The Student Affairs and Orientation Team is pleased to be hosting Welcome Back Coffee again in 2009!  Help yourself to a coffee, hot chocolate and donuts on your way into B or D Buildings. Hope to see you there!

January 8, 2009 - WINTER CARNIVAL
Come join your classmates at Winter Carnival in the gymnasium from 11:00am – 3:00pm. Activities at the Winter Carnival will include an Algonquin fashion show featuring students in uniform, other Algonquin talent, competitions and much more! Come visit the different booths in the gym and find the services that you need to succeed at Algonquin College.  You could win amazing prizes!

January 26, 2009 - CHINESE NEW YEAR; YEAR OF THE OX
Experience traditions of the Chinese New Year, such as the dragon dance, and learn about the Chinese culture at the information booths. And, if you enjoy Chinese food you will love the chance to sample some of the tasty treats on offer. Chinese New Year is celebrated in either January or February, depending on the lunar calendar.

February 2009 - BLACK HISTORY MONTH
During the month of February, Black History Month is celebrated through various events around campus. You will have the opportunity to speak with members of the Black Students’ Association and experience various aspects of their culture.

Mar. 17 & 18, 2009 - CELEBRATION OF CULTURES
Ever wanted to visit a foreign land? Well now you will have the opportunity right here at Algonquin College in the Marketplace Food Court. Mouth watering aromas and colourful displays from various countries give you the opportunity to learn more about different cultures. Some even offer the chance to taste foods native to their country.

July , 2009 - SUMMER CARNIVAL
Just because you are going to school in the summer doesn't mean you miss out on all the fun. Cometo the C building courtyard and enjoy an afternoon filled with sun, music, volleyball, prize giveaways, and free food at the Summer Carnival.

August 31 - September 4, 2009 - FALL ORIENTATION DAYS
This day is filled with information to help you get the most out of your time at Algonquin College. Presentations from your department heads, the Students’ Association, and Student Services will welcome you to the Algonquin College family and provide helpful information. Campus guided tours will make sure you feel comfortable navigating the campus.

December 2, 2008 - WINTER ORIENTATION
During this information session you will learn about the services Algonquin College has to offer. Presentations from Student Services and college departments, along with guided tours of the campus, will give you all the information you need to make your time at the college successful.
