Visitors

General

In accordance with Directive C2 – Parking, the College offers complimentary or “free” parking to official guests and certain identified groups of individuals. Departments can purchase guest passes for non-official guests for use in the Visitors’ parking lot, at a reduced rate, from Parking Services. The cost of the pass is $9.00 plus applicable taxes and will be paid through an interdepartmental journal voucher.

Departments that wish to purchase guest passes in order to offer their visitors / guests free parking should submit their request to Parking Services with a minimum of 24 hours notice. E-mail Parking Services and include the number of guest passes requested and an applicable budget code to process the journal voucher.

Using the Pass – Procedure

Visitors or guests will proceed to the Visitors’ parking lot, take a ticket from the dispenser, and park. They will then attend the function or event and receive the guest pass from the department responsible for inviting them to the campus. When guests exit the Visitors’ parking lot, they must insert the entrance ticket they received at the pay station. They will then be instructed to insert the guest pass. Fraudulent or altered passes will be subject to the daily rate of the lot, with no exceptions.

Visitor Pass Rules

Visitor passes may be purchased from Parking Services or Conference Services (in conjunction with a conference or meeting event). The passes are only valid in the Visitors’ parking lot. They are valid for only one use.

Departments will control the issuance and reconciliation of the passes. They will be responsible for their accountability, security, safety, and issue them independently of Parking Services. Unused, un-altered passes may be returned to Parking Services at the fiscal year-end and a credit will be issued to the department for the original cost, less an administrative fee of $0.50 per pass.

Visiting Ottawa from other campuses

When visiting the Ottawa campus from rural campuses, a permit holder may park in Lot 12 with their permit.
