Frequently Asked Questions about Corporate Training:

1. We have a small business with only a few employees. Does Algonquin College provide corporate training opportunities to small businesses?

Absolutely! Small businesses are a critical part of our business. We offer public workshops and short courses that allow small businesses to team up with other organizations and businesses to access training such as computer skills, leadership and management, human resources. If the training needs are more specific, we will work with your business to develop a customized training plan.

2. We have no idea how much it would cost to access a customized training program for our staff? Will Algonquin College help us to come up with a training plan that fits into our budget?

Yes. We will meet with your leadership team or manager to discuss your organization’s training needs. We will also discuss your budget and work with you to come up with a plan that will meet your business needs, while also respecting your budget. We may also be able to recommend government funding programs that support training for businesses through grants.

3. We have a small staff and a busy business. If we accessed corporate training through Algonquin College, we would need the training to be offered on weekends or in the evening. Does the college offer flexible training schedules?

The College is committed to serving our clients and working around schedules. We often provide evening and weekend training to our clients. The College normally requires a minimum number of students to offer courses on weekends and in the evening.

4. What type of training is available through Algonquin College’s Corporate Training Department?

The College has helped many businesses access training. Health care, the skilled trades, leadership and management are among the most popular courses we deliver through our Corporate Training division. However, we have offered a wide variety of industry-specific training to area companies and organizations. Businesses are advised to contact our Corporate Training office to ask about the training they require. In most cases, we will be able to help through our wide network of trainers.
