Co-op Placements                                                                                    <Home

brushingThe Golf and Ski Operations Management program offers students the unique opportunity of experiencing two paid co-operative education workplace experiences during the program.

Each co-op placement can last up to 12 weeks with one taking place in the winter at a ski operation and the other during the summer at a golf operation.  These two placements will give students valuable hands-on skills, actual workplace experience, and networking opportunities for future employment.

Both golf and ski companies have inside operations and outside operations.  For students doing a placement at a golf resort, the outside operations could include green, tee, and fairway cutting; bunker maintenance, aeration and irrigation of the golf course.  Inside operations could include food services, rental services, and pro shop operation.

To qualify for the paid co-op experiences, students must maintain a high academic average in their first semester of studies. The college has a co-op placement officer who works with students and employers to secure placements and monitor progress.  Each student, however, must earn through their theory/classroom work, the opportunity to experience a co-op placement.
