Get Ready to Play at Algonquin College in the Ottawa Valley!

Sports and Athletics are an important part of many students college experience. At Algonquin College in the Ottawa Valley, our new waterfront campus includes a gymnasium and fitness centre.

We also partner with the City of Pembroke to access municipal facilities to broaden the opportunity for our students to play sports.

The Algonquin Students' Association manages the operation of our athletic facilities, and also coordinates off site sporting events.  Our intramural sports are open to all women and men and are sometimes offered as a co-ed activity. All intramural sports are offered based on student demand.

  • Intramural sports in our gymnasium including basketball, indoor soccer, volleyball, floor hockey and much more.
  • Intramural Outdoor soccer, touch football, ultimate frisbee and softball at nearby Riverside Park, a large municipal facility that is within walking distance of the campus.
  • Intramural hockey at the nearby Pembroke Memorial Centre, across the street from the campus.
  • Varsity Loggersports for both men and women. Participation in Loggersports includes the opportunity to travel to other colleges and universities to compete in tournaments. The campus includes an outdoor training centre for the Algonquin Loggersports team.

The location of our new waterfront campus is also advantageous for track and field activities such as running and walking. The 2 kilometre long Kiwanis Walkway is at the doorstep of the campus and runs adjacent to the shore line of the Ottawa River, creating a picturesque vista for students to enjoy while they run.

Public docking is also available for kayak and canoe enthusiasts at the nearby Pembroke Marina, a short walk from the College.
