lakHealth Services Nurse

Laurie Ann Klawitter is a Registered Nurse in Health Services and is on campus daily from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday.

Hours are extended each fall semester - see schedule at Health Services office. 

Laurie Ann is an experienced nurse who provides good advice on health care issues impacting your ability to be successful in your studies. She can also refer you to community health care resources where you can access additional support. 

Dr. Holly Fraser joined our Health Services office in late 2012.  Dr. Fraser is a family physician and is available one day a week. Her schedule is posted at Health Services.

health boosterYour Health Services Office offers the following:

  • First aid treatment
  • Free condoms
  • Emergency treatment for accidents
  • Treatment for chronic or acute illness: headache, flu, cold, etc.
  • Birth control information
  • All required vaccinations available by appointment - sign up at Health Services.  Available vaccinations include:  Tetanus; MMR (measles, mumps, rubella); Flu vaccine and Hepatitus B
  • TB testing
  • Health assistance for students with special needs
  • Nutrition counselling
  • Referrals to community services & agencies
  • Pamphlets on a wide variety of health topics
  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • Smoking cessation support and counselling
  • Health Booster - a health information fair
  • Birth control pills- $7 per package with a prescription - Wednesdays only - 2 to 4 p.m.

A Sexual Health Clinic is available on Wednesdays between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. located in Laurie Ann's office (Room 110 D).  It is also available to the public.
