The Algonquin Students’ Association (SA) is a not-for-profit corporation that exists to create an environment that inspires a passion for student success.

The SA was established in 1970 is a non-profit corporation with offices at all Algonquin College campuses.

The SA is governed by a Board of Directors and assisted by a team of full-time staff. The board consists of student Directors who make all the key decisions that affect you, the Student.

They govern the management of the corporation and are your voice in the upper echelons of the college administration.

The Pembroke office is located in Room 100. We have created an environment built around student success.

Services your SA provides:

Waterfront Campus Loggersports competitionOne of our key mandates is to plan events and sporting activities for students. Activities include comedy, live entertainment, free student BBQs, trips to football and hockey games, and an annual student-staff hockey game. The SA also funds the Loggersports team with our students participating in at least two major events each year. We also offer an intramural sports program that utilizes our new gymnasium at our waterfront campus. We also provide an hour of ice time per week. Memberships can be purchased for the use of the Fitness Zone.

To make your experience at the Pembroke Campus the best it can be, we encourage you to get involved with your Students’ Association. We welcome feedback and enjoy working with students to plan fun activities. We invest in programs and facilities that support students.

Who is your SA Team?

  • Connor Benson is the Students’ Association Manager, Pembroke Campus Operations
  • Bobby Ford is the Campus Recreation and Fitness Coordinator
  • Sherry Ethier is the Operations Assistant

If you have any ideas or requests for activities, drop into the office. We are working for you, the students, to help ensure your time here at Algonquin is enjoyable and rewarding. All services can be accessed through room 100, beside the Student Commons. Stop by and find out what the SA can do for you!
