Centre for Accessible Learning

Welcome to the Perth Campus Centre for Accessible Learning

The team at the Centre for Accessible Learning is delighted that you have chosen Algonquin College for your post-secondary education. We’re committed to ensuring that you have equal access to all educational opportunities and hope that you will take advantage of our excellent services and resources.

The Centre for Accessible Learning provides academic accommodations and educational support services for students with documented disabilities applying to or attending Algonquin College. With close to 10% of the student population registering for services, our goal is to provide the necessary accommodations to equalize the opportunity for students to meet their essential course or program requirements. Services are confidential, free and voluntary. Students are, however, required to self identify in order to access services. We are mandated by the Human Rights Commission’s Guidelines for Accommodating Persons with Disabilities, the Ontario Human Rights Code and Algonquin College Policy AC01.

The Centre for Accessible Learning is here to help!

here2helpDisabilities come in many shapes and sizes. They can be invisible (like a learning disability, psychiatric diagnosis, ADD, or medical issues) or visible (like mobility, hearing or sight).

Registering with the Centre for Accessible Learning can provide you with supports and academic accommodations while you are studying at Algonquin College Perth Campus.

Students can schedule an appointment with a Disabilities Counsellor by contacting the Welcome Centre at 613-727-4723, ext. 7200 or welcomecentre@algonquincollege.com

If you do not have any documentation, we can discuss what is required to receive accommodations. If you were registered last year, you need to have your Letter of Accommodation updated.
