WHMIS Training

All Employees of Algonquin College can now complete their WHMIS training with YOW Canada’s online course. WHMIS stands for Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System. This course will teach employees about the WHMIS regulations and how to work safely with and around controlled products.

About the Course

This WHMIS online course takes up to 1.5 hours to complete and can be taken from any computer with an internet connection. Employees can log in and out as many times as needed. The course material is divided into small modules. At the end of reviewing each module the user will take a short quiz. Upon successful completion of the quiz the user will move to the next module.

Introduction & regulations, roles & responsibilities, symbols, labels, controlled products, MSDS forms, interactive exercises.

STEP 1: LOGIN

Go to www.yowcanada.com/register and enter the following information:

Username: AC
Password: WHMIS

STEP 2: REGISTER YOURSELF

You will be prompted to enter your Employee ID. Please make sure you enter the proper number.

STEP 3: TAKE THE COURSE

Note: The audio component of the training requires your speakers to be turned on.

Once you have entered your Employee ID, you will be automatically directed to the course. Your login information will also be emailed to you so you can take the course at a later date, if you wish.

Once you begin the course you can log out and log back in at a later time as often as you wish in order to complete it. Your work will be saved.

To obtain a copy of your training record for your own records, click on “Print Certificate”. Your electronic training record is already kept on file by YOW Canada and the College.
