In the event of an external disaster, which creates a significant risk of exposure to airborne contaminants (smoke, toxic vapours, biological agent, etc.) measures will be taken to exclude external air from entering the College.  Such conditions might arise as a result of a nearby fire, industrial accident, train derailment or intentional act.

Upon notification by municipal / provincial authorities or upon detection by other means:

Disaster headquarters will be established to carry out the following measures:

• Make key decisions regarding continued access to College facilities and the continuity of operations
• Shut down all ventilation systems and exhaust fans
• Communicate to all areas of the College to close doors and windows
• Control access at all College entrances to ensure opening of doors is limited to essential requirements
