President’s Star Award

In the continued spirit of culture & recognition, please recommend a colleague for the
President’s Star Award.

The President’s Star Award is presented to an employee who demonstrates a commitment to excellence in their role within the College community; regularly and consistently demonstrates outstanding service; and/or perform acts of significant merit that model our shared commitment to student success and the College’s values of Caring, Learning, Integrity and Respect.

Eligibility

The award is open to all current employees (full-time and part-time, permanent and contract) of Algonquin College. Individuals may be nominated more than once, but may not receive the award more than once in a two-year period.

Other ways to recognize a colleague:

  1. A letter of recognition / acknowledgement
    • Feel free to write a letter of acknowledgement / recognition / thanks to a colleague
    • Craft your letter and send it as an attachment to the colleague you want to recognize
    • Be sure to cc. the colleague’s immediate supervisor, and all subsequent supervisors up to and including their VP on your email with the attached letter
    • You can use this template to craft your letter
  2. A letter of recognition / acknowledgement signed by and sent from the recipient’s VP
    • Feel free to write a letter of acknowledgement / recognition / thanks to a colleague which is signed and sent by the colleague’s VP
    • You can use this template to craft your letter
    • Submit the letter to the recipient’s VP’s office for signature and submission to the recipient, the President and the recipient’s employee file
