Many opportunities exist at Algonquin College to develop your leadership skills. Whether it involves leading a workshop, representing the college on external committees, coordinating a department, leading your class in best practices on sustainability or conducting applied research and publishing the results; Algonquin offers many opportunities for professional activities. Association québécoise de pédagogie collégiale
(AQPC) is created by a group of educators eager to stimulate pedagogical progress in colleges and upgrade the teaching profession in higher education. The AQPC is an association open to everyone who works in the public college sector. Many of the on-line resources are in English.

Introductory Sustainability Online Modules

All employees of Algonquin College, as well as all Algonquin College students have access to a simple tool to support a better understanding of this topic. Available as an online course, these learning modules can be completed in approximately one hour or less for each session. The Introduction to Sustainability, Part I guides learners through the basics of sustainability, introduces how the concept applies to the learning and working environment at Algonquin College, and sparks thinking on how the individual contributes to a Sustainable Algonquin and one’s role on a larger scale. The Introduction to Sustainability, Part II, offers new tools with a deeper dive using a sustainability lens to further investigate and integrate sustainability into your everyday life.

Periodically there are opportunities for Algonquin faculty to represent their departments on internal college committees. Some committees you may want to consider include the following:
