Responsibility Center Management (RCM)

Rainbow lego block symbolizing responsibility center managementResponsibility Center Management (RCM) empowers our academic and non-academic leaders to define their own directions by managing revenues as well as operating expenses. This decentralized approach promotes innovation, collaboration and entrepreneurship across the College.

The RCM project, now complete and transitioned to operations, will advance Algonquin’s leadership in strategic resource allocation. The project undertook a consultative and comprehensive review of the current financial processes and RCM models in other academic institutions in order to deliver a “best practices” blueprint.

With the development of an Operational Plan for F2016-2017 and Strategic Recommendations for future applications, the RCM Project will foster the alignment of Algonquin’s delivery of academic excellence with its commitment to financial sustainability.
