Many resources and opportunities for education and training are available to both employers and jobseekers at the local level. As well, both federal and provincial levels of government provide support, information, and programs that fund and direct these resources and opportunities.
~~ ANNOUNCEMENT ~~
The Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration launched a Pilot Provincial Nominee Program in May 2007. This program is designed to attract new investment that will contribute to job creation, job retention and economic development. It will do this by helping employers in targeted sectors attract and retain qualified employees for jobs that are currently experiencing labour shortages.
Over the next couple of months the Ministry will be holding regional seminars across Ontario to provide information on the Pilot Provincial Nominee Program. Up-to-date information on seminar dates, locations and times can be found at: http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/english/PNPNew.asp.
