Getting Your Credential
There are two options to receive your credentials once you have a graduation status. Students who are part of a full-time program will be assessed automatically for graduation status in their final year of study. Students studying part-time and/or online through the Centre for Continuing and Online Learning must complete a Certificate/Diploma Application for their status to be assessed. Forms should be returned to the Registrar’s Office via mail, email, fax or in-person.
Once you have completed all components of your program and you have cleared any encumbrances to your status, you will be ready to graduate. You will be contacted via email about your graduate status. Credentials can be collected at convocation, or be sent to your mailing address.
Convocation ceremonies are held in fall and spring. They are a great opportunity to celebrate your accomplishment with family, friends, peers and the Algonquin community. Your credential will be ready for you to collect backstage after you have your photograph taken. The Registrar’s Office invites and encourages all graduating students to attend a Convocation Ceremony.
Should you choose not to attend a Convocation Ceremony, your credential will be mailed out to you. Shipping times may vary by destination. Please ensure your mailing address is up to date by logging on to ACSIS and updating your student profile as necessary.
If you have received an email indicating your graduation status and require your Credential as a matter of urgency (such as for employment, immigration or further education purposes), please contact the Registrar’s Office.
