The Algonquin College Technical Writer program prepares you for a career in technical communication through a combination of course work and an onsite placement.

Technical documentation forms the keystone of the program. The ability to produce documentation that meets the needs of businesses and their clients is an essential skill that is refined through practical exercises, small group projects, and collaborative activities in the first two terms of the program.

The one-year program concludes with a practical workplace assignment arranged by the Program Coordinator.

Students in our 2009 -2010 class have come to our program with degrees and diplomas in English, history, psychology, political science, professional writing, computer science, business, and radio broadcasting.

Some of our students have also arrived at our program with significant work experience in industry and government.
