Peer Tutoring
What is it?
The Student Tutoring Service is designed to help registered students who are experiencing difficulties in certain courses.
Students are matched with trained senior students for one-to-one tutoring. Tutoring for more advanced courses may be available in certain subject areas.
This program is run by Counselling Services in collaboration with the Students’ Association.
How do you get this help?
Apply in person to the Counselling office on your campus.
The Woodroffe campus uses a computerized booking system which matches students with the appropriate tutor. To access this system, please go to the Test Centre, room C224.

When can I start?
Appointments can be booked 48 hours from the time of matching, if an appropriate tutor is available. Should we not have a tutor registered for the requested subject, it may take a little longer to make a match.
Cost?
For each hour of tutoring, students pay $4.00. The Students’ Association will pay the remaining $7.00 per hour through CSEP grants. The tutors are then paid $11.00 per hour. Students with severe financial hardship can apply to Counselling Services for help in covering costs.
CAN I BE A TUTOR ?
Tutors are required to have a minimum of a B grade in the subject they wish to tutor and are recommended by their teachers. They are screened and trained by the Counselling Department, room C226 and are paid $11.00 an hour. For more information, please visit the Test Centre, room C224.
