WHAT IS THE HEALTH OCCUPATIONS HEALTH EXAMINATION (HOAE)?
The Health Occupations Aptitude Examination (HOAE) is a set of five tests designed to assess an applicant’s skill and knowledge in areas deemed relevant to college-level health services programs.

The HOAE is a web-based assessment that is administered through a computer. You will not be permitted to use a calculator, dictionary, or any other reference guide to complete the HOAE unless you are approved to do so by Algonquin College’s Centre for Students with Disabilities (CSD).

Algonquin does not allow applicants to use HOAE results from previous years.

Applicants to any Ontario College are permitted to complete the HOAE only once every application year. You are responsible for having the results of your HOAE transferred to all necessary colleges.
PREPARATION
The Test Centre is limited to providing only those preparation materials approved by the publishers of each assessment.

These sample questions are not designed to provide you with an assessment of your current skill levels; they are provided to orient you to the style of question used in the actual assessment.

COST
The standard admissions assessment fee is $50.00. Fees can be paid by cash, debit card, Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. Personal cheques are not accepted.

Please note: For those applicants wishing to remotely complete an assessment at a location other than Algonquin’s Woodroffe campus Test Centre may be charged an additional administration fee by that institution.

Receiving your Results
Your results on the HOAE will be provided upon request. To request a copy of your HOAE results, please send your request to testcentre@algonquincollege.com.
