How to Make an Appointment for Testing

  • Local Candidates

Call the Test Centre at 727-4723, extension 7079. Have the letter sent to you by the College on hand when you call; you must provide your student number or you will not be given an appointment.

  • Out-of-town Candidates

Applicants who live more than 40 km / 25miles from the College may elect to write their tests under the supervision of a staff member at an educational facility in their own area. Only full-time staff in a teaching, administrative or counselling position in a school, college or university will be accepted as invigilators. Tests are sent directly to the supervisor named and are returned directly to Algonquin College for processing.

Please Note: As of November 1st a $25 administrative fee will be charged to process out-of-town test administration.

  • Students/Candidates with Disabilities

If you are a student/candidate with a disability who requires accommodation (such as extended time, the service of a scribe, etc.), please contact the Centre for Students with Disabilities at 727-4723, extension 7683 to make the necessary arrangements. Please contact the Centre for Students with Disabilities at least two weeks before your scheduled test date. In no case is Test Centre staff authorized to grant accommodations which have not been approved, in advance, by the Centre for Students with Disabilities.

  • Attention : February 1st Applicants

The deadline for applications for Fall programs is February 1st. The ranking and selection of candidates to programs will begin on or about March 6.

For this reason, we encourage you make your testing appointment early so that your application file will be complete. To maintain your February 1st equal consideration status, all testing should be completed by February 23rd. Completing your tests after this date might mean that your candidacy would not be considered in the first group of candidates looked at on that date. Your application would then be considered under a first-come, first-served basis for as long as space was available.

You may check the status of your application by calling the Registrar's office at (613) 727-0002
or 1-800-565-4723. (Please have your student number available when calling.)
