COMPLETING AN ADMISSION ASSESSMENT AT WOODROFFE CAMPUS
Admissions assessment appointments can be booked online. Select the above link to the Test Centre’s Online Booking System and follow the instructions to book an appointment to complete the require admission test. Please refer to the letter from Algonquin College inviting you to complete an admissions test for the name of the assessment that you are to complete and your student number. Please note that you must provide your nine-digit student number to book a testing appointment. If you would like to book a time to complete your assessment directly with the Test Centre, call 613-727-4723 ext. 7079.
CANCELING AND RESCHEDULING ASSESSMENT APPOINTMENTS
To cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact the Test Centre at (613)727-4723, ext. 7079 or testcentre@algonquincollege.com. Please provide at least 48 hours notice when canceling or rescheduling appointments.
COMPLETING AN ADMISSIONS ASSESSMENT OUTSIDE OF OTTAWA
All applicants who live farther than 40 km from the Woodroffe Campus may choose to complete their assessment in their local community. For example, applicants in Kemptville, Carleton Place, Almonte, Arnprior, Thurso, Casselman, and Winchester are not required to travel to Algonquin College’s Woodroffe Campus to complete their admissions assessment. Important: Most of Algonquin College’s admissions assessments are web-based. This means that they must be completed on a computer with a reliable internet connection. Simply complete the following steps: Step 1: Find a supervisor who is willing to administer the assessment to you. It is best if you approach the test centre of the college or university in your local community and ask if they can administer the assessment on behalf of Algonquin College. Our admissions assessments are completed online, and so your supervisor must be able to provide a quite test room with a reliable computer and access to the internet. It is preferable that your supervisor is experienced administering web-based assessments. To be accepted as a suitable assessment supervisor, an individual must be employed full-time as a teacher, professor, administrator, or counsellor within a school, college, or university in your community. The Step 2: Complete the Out-Of-Town Assessment Request form. Step 3: Print the form and include payment of $40 assessment fee. Step 4: Send form and payment to the test Centre. To send by fax: fax the completed form to (613) 727-7671. Please provide credit card information including type of card, name of card holder, card number, and expiration date on a separate sheet. To send electronically: Complete the form and click submit. To complete payment, please call the Test Centre with credit card information at (613)727-4723, ext. 7079. Alternately, send payment in the form of a cheque, money order, or bank note by mail or credit card information by fax. Note: Please allow 2 weeks for the processing of your request. Your assessment will be sent via email directly to your supervisor along with instructions on how to administer the assessment. Please confirm the receipt of the assessment with your supervisor at least 2 business days prior to your scheduled assessment date.
REQUESTING AN ASSESSMENT ACCOMODATION FOR A DISSABILITYIf you are an applicant with a disability and would like to request some form of accommodation to complete your assessment, please contact Algonquin’s Centre for Students with Disabilities (CSD) to make the necessary arrangements. Please allow at least 2 weeks for the Centre for Students with Disabilities to arrange for appropriate accommodations. The Test Centre is not permitted to grant any accommodation that has not been approved, in advance, by the Centre for Students with Disabilities.
