I have applied to programs at several Ontario colleges and have been told that I need to write the Health Occupations Aptitude Examination (HOAE) for admission to those programs. If I write the HOAE at one of these colleges, will my results be transferred to all of the colleges to which I have applied?
The short answer is: Yes. However, each college has its own policy for transferring HOAE results to other colleges. Please see the table below for an outline of how to have your results transferred between the colleges to which you have applied.

Ridgetown does not begin HOAE testing until February 28, which is after Algonquin’s Feb. 23 deadline for receiving HOAE results. If you wish to write at Ridgetown before Feb. 23, you must ask Ridgetown to administer the HOAE on behalf of Algonquin by requesting to complete an admissions assessment outside of Ottawa. See the instructions found in the BOOKING AN ASSESSMENT APPOINTMENT section found on this website.

Once I’ve done my assessment, when can I get my results?
This is often the first question that applicants ask as soon as they have finished their admissions assessment. Once you complete your assessment, your results are sent to the Admissions Department and/or the selection committee of the program(s) to which you have applied. These results are used to help determine whether you meet each program’s admissions requirements. The Admissions Department will then send you a letter indicating whether or not you have been given an offer of admission to those programs. It may take several weeks to receive this letter. If you would like to receive the raw scores from your admissions assessment, these will be available to you through the Test Centre after March 9, 2009. Please consult this web site after that date for the instructions to request your results.
