AC-HPAT:

Your results will be added to your application for all Algonquin programs to which you have been invited to complete the AC-HPAT .The AC-HPAT only applies to Algonquin College health programs, so if you have applied to multiple colleges, you will still be responsible for writing that particular college’s admissions assessment. The Test Centre does not release results via email.
You should note that the purpose of an assessment is to determine if you are eligible for admission to your chosen program and that decision is made by the Registrar’s Office and your program. In the case of highly competitive programs, there may be ranking involved to ensure the candidates most likely to succeed in the demanding program are selected. The Test Centre automatically sends a copy of your results to the Registrar’s Office following your assessment. You will be officially notified by the Registrar’s Office about your admission status in the weeks following your assessment.

PT-MCT: (currently suspended)

If you have written the Powerline Technician-Mechanical Comprehension test (PT-MCT), your results will automatically be forwarded to the Registrar’s Office. The Test Centre does not release results via email.
You should note that the purpose of an assessment is to determine if you are eligible for admission to your chosen program and that decision is made by the Registrar’s Office and your program. In the case of highly competitive programs such as Powerline Technician, there may be ranking involved to ensure the candidates most likely to succeed in the demanding program are selected. Is My Assessment Still Valid?

Most Accuplacer assessment results are valid for two application years. For example, if an admissions assessment is completed for a program that starts in the 2017/2018 academic year, that assessment would be valid for the 2017/2018 and the 2018/2019 application years. An easy way to determine the year of an application is through the first two digits of your ontariocolleges.ca application number. For example, the number “170000000” indicates an application filed for the 2017/2018 application year.

Important: The Algonquin College Health Program Admission Test (AC-HPAT™) and the Powerline Technician Admission Assessment (PT-MCT), are only valid for the application year in which they are completed.

Can I rewrite my Accuplacer Assessment?

Applicants may attempt most Accuplacer assessments three times per admission period if they are not successful on their first attempt (i.e., ONLY 2 re-writes for an unsuccessful attempt in any given admission period). There are 3 (three) admission periods per year: September, January, and May. Applicants must wait 30 days between each attempt and testing fees will apply each time you write.

Important: The Algonquin College Health Program Admission Test (AC-HPAT™), the Advanced Care Paramedic Admission Assessment (ACPAA), English Language Assessment for Advanced Programs (ELAAP), English for Academic Purposes Placement Test (EAP) and the Powerline Technician Assessment (PT-MCT) can only be attempted once per academic year.
