Reborn band rises from ashes to success By Steve McGill Bring two guys together who are both passionate about music, having fun and never taking themselves too seriously. The resulting band is going to be a fun and imaginative project driven by a love of music. "We were in a band called The Worrell Charm, and when the band broke up, we decided to keep making music together," said Bilodeau. The type of music the band plays ranges from danceable pop songs to covers of rap hits, and everything in between, as they aspire to have a little bit of something for everyone. Having recently played their first show at Zaphods on Feb 10 in Ottawa they made an impression not only with their music, but with the amount of junk they bring on stage with them. "Our goal is to have a stimulating show not only on the musical aspect, but in other ways, like we include the phones and old radios as symbols for what we're trying to say in the songs," said Bilodeau. With their second show on April 3, the band already has several new tracks ready to play, and hope to capture a bigger audience by opening for Montreal's Creature. "We're excited to not be the only Creature's there, I'm hoping they'll let me join the band," joked Worrell. They have also just completed their first EP entitled Visions which they're looking forward to putting out soon. As far as what the summer holds for them, it's shows and more shows. They're planning a CD release show in the future, as well as getting together with some friends and playing some of their songs with a full band. "We just want to spread the word around," said Bilodeau. |
