A.L.E.R.T. status: How do I check on an A.L.E.R.T. I’ve submitted?

Once you have submitted an A.L.E.R.T., you may want to check to see that it was submitted correctly and that the Student Success Specialist (SSS) has acknowledged the submission. You can see this information within the A.L.E.R.T system using the following process:

  1. Open the A.L.E.R.T. tool from Brightspace.
  2. Click My Alert Status in the top menu bar.

You will now see a dashboard of information on all of your submitted A.L.E.R.T.s. You will be able to see information such as the status of the A.L.E.R.T. and the name of the SSS to whom it was directed.

Courses codes: How do I enter a course in A.L.E.R.T.?

When you submit an A.L.E.R.T., you need to add the course code into the form when prompted. Do not input the name of the course.  Section information (e.g. the ‘T’ at the end of ENL1813T) is not required; however, you can add it if you choose.

The course code is seven or eight digits, depending on whether the course has multiple sections. For example:

  • CST8300 (seven digits, no course section)
  • ENL1813T (eight digits, including a course section)

Multiple A.L.E.R.T.s: Can I submit a “group” A.L.E.R.T. for multiple students presenting the same at-risk concerns?

A.L.E.R.T.s are tied to individual student numbers. You must enter the student number before viewing the full form.
