General Arts and Science – English for Academic Purposes (EAP) (International)
Offered as a full-time program, Algonquin College’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP) provides language training in an academic environment. All faculty members hold degrees and professional TESL certification. The program covers various levels of instruction, from beginner to advanced, with courses in speaking, reading, writing, listening, pronunciation and grammar.

Costs for the 2025/2026 Academic Year
- $8,200CAD for 14 weeks (2 Levels) – default tuition fee amount for new applicants
- $4,100 CAD per level (7 weeks)

EAP Placement Test
An Algonquin College placement test is required in to determine your EAP level unless you have a valid Duolingo, Academic IELTS or TOEFL or PTE-A score. Applicants without one of these valid test scores will be required to pay an additional $50 for the on-campus Algonquin College placement, or $85 for the remote test, prior to starting EAP. EAP Levels
There are a total of 8 Pre-EAP and EAP Levels from beginner to advanced. Each level takes 7 weeks to complete.

- EAP Levels 1-6
To complete all 8 levels of EAP, it will take approximately 16 months. Your IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo or Algonquin College placement test will determine the level you will enter at the start of your studies. Students cannot skip levels.
All academic programs require successful completion of either Level 5 or Level 6, with specific grade requirements. Please refer to your Letter of Acceptance for the level and grade requirement or ask for clarification on your application portal.

Please note that this chart is for reference only and your starting EAP level will be determined by the College after submission of your official score.

Short-Term Study
AC offers short-term study experiences for international students, from high school to college or university-enrolled.
